Giveaways worth £3k on offer as new Tim Hortons reveals opening date

BIG prizes are on offer from the north east’s very first Tim Hortons branch when it opens its doors at the Galleries in Washington next month.

The iconic Canadian eatery announced its arrival back in April and has been under construction since receiving confirmation of planning permission earlier this year, taking over the former Frankie and Benny’s site at the entry to the town’s shopping hub.

And while details had been scarce leading into the summer, chiefs have now announced their opening date.

Iced Capps will feature on the restaurant’s menu…

Washington’s Tim Hortons will open shop on Monday August 9 at 7am and to mark the occasion, bosses of the food and coffee chain have put up a number of generous giveaways.

The first fan in the drive-thru and restaurant queue will be awarded with free drinks for a whole year, a prize worth a staggering £3,100.

And that’s not all. The first 100 customers will also receive a free breakfast meal on the day.

In addition, Tim Hortons will run a series of giveaways including free drinks and donuts for those who activate their Tim Hortons’ digital wallet. Guests will simply need to scan the QR code found at the restaurant or by visiting here via their mobile to activate the rewards wallet.

The restaurant will be open from 6am all the way up to midnight

Opening from 6am to midnight, seven days a week, the restaurant’s menu is set to feature best-selling items including Timbits, Iced Capps, Freshly Baked Donuts and Tims® Crispy Chicken Sandwich.

Kevin Hydes, Chief Commercial Officer of the UK franchise said: “We’ve had our sights set on the North East for a long time now and so it’s always extra special opening in a new region where there are both fan and new customers eager to try our famed offering.

“We are giving away some amazing launch prizes on Monday 9 August and encourage guests to come see us throughout the day. We look forward to welcoming people from Washington and the wider community and cannot wait to open our doors.”
