Washington Athletic FC receives cash boost

BUDDING young footballers from Washington Athletic FC received a helping hand last week as Rotary Washington helped boost funds.

Both the Mini Kickers and other older club members were on hand as the club received a cheque from Rotary Washington at their first gathering since lockdown.

The club makes use of Usworth Colliery Primary School’s outdoor areas to train youngsters and help encourage kids to become part of a team.

Terry Rutherford and John Dodds, two of the club’s leading lights, were on hand for the presentation as well as Rotary’s Vice Chair Joan Waldron and Community Service Chair Neil McOnie.
