CHIEFS of the Washington Live festival have today taken the decision to postpone this year’s event amid the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak.
The local music bash, which was set to launch in less than eight weeks’ time, will now be held later this summer.
A statement from event organisers reads:
Our planned date of Saturday 6 June appears to be no longer viable. Things have took a serious turn for the worse over the last few weeks, and our thoughts and prayers go out to each and everyone of you, wether you or anyone you know is battling this virus, and to our hard working and amazing frontline staff and key workers.
We’ve been hoping for things to take a turn for the better before releasing this news, but as that doesn’t seem to be forthcoming anytime soon, we thought we should keep you informed.
We have taken the decision to move the festival to Saturday 5 September, and on top of that, we’ve managed to secure the same line up for the new date.
We all hope that by September, we will have come out of this, and of course, we will be taking advice from the relevant authorities as and when it is released.
