GLEBE’S Wessington Primary School has made a call for used football boots as it bids to boost a new crop of teams.
With a recent surge in children looking to kick off their sporting careers, officials at the Washington school have asked local people to dig around for used footwear which may be of use to the budding Beckhams.
“We have had a lot of children interested in taking up football this half term, which is amazing,” a statement said.
“We now have a girls team as well as two football teams, we’ve never had this many children interested and we couldn’t be happier about it.
“We would love for you guys to bring in boots that no longer fit your little ones and either swap them for a bigger pair or donate them so children who don’t have a pair of boots can use them until they get some of their own.
“If you have any old football boots, trainers or shin pads, please bring them in to Michael so we can get started.”
Those with boots or gear to donate can contact the school through its Facebook page
