WASHINGTON folk of all ages came together to enjoy a day of music and family fun at Usworth Miners Picnic.
Usworth Park in Concord once again played host to the historic annual event to celebrate the town’s rich mining heritage.

The event, organised by Community Opportunities and The Little Onion Club, took place on Sunday and featured a selection of stalls, kid’s games and food as the community came together to enjoy a day outside.
Many visitors brought their own food, drink and deckchairs as they enjoyed an afternoon of music from Felling Band, who performed a selection of modern and classic favourites.

Usworth Miners Picnic is held each summer at Usworth Park and aims to bring the community together to remember Washington’s traditional mining industry.
