CONCORD ILLUMINATIONS SWITCH ON CONFIRMED FOR NOVEMBER 17

ONE of Washington’s most popular events will return later this month, with the date confirmed for the annual Concord Illuminations switch on.

The event, which has become popular with people of all ages over the last few years, will be held in the main shopping area of Victoria Road, on Monday, November 17.

Along with the traditional switch on and fireworks display, visitors will be able to enjoy musical performances from Albany Village Primary Choir, Sophie Gordon and Laura Cairns, while funfair rides will be available for the kids.

Mayor Coun Ehthesham Haque and Mayoress Coun Lynda Scanlan will be in attendance and visitors will be able to enjoy tasty food and drink from local shops and food vans.

The event, funded by Washington Area Committee, is free and will run from 5-7pm with the firework display due at 6pm.
