FOLLOWING today’s news regarding the plans to bring the Metro to Washington by 2033, Nexus is urging residents to have their say.
Public drop-in sessions are being held all month in Washington and the surrounding area where residents can discover more about the development, discuss the proposals with members of the project team and leave feedback.
The first meeting is today – Tuesday September 1 – at Washington Millennium Centre from 4-6pm and will be followed by many more over the coming weeks:
- Saturday September 5 – Washington Arts Centre, Fatfield, 1-30-4pm
- Monday September 7 – Fitzgeralds, Wardley, 12.30-4.30pm
- Wednesday September 9 – Tansy Centre, South Hylton, 1.30-4pm
- Friday September 11 – Teal Farm Pub, Team Farm, 12.30-4.30pm
- Saturday September 12 – North East Land, Sea and Air Museum, 11am-2pm
- Tuesday September 15 – Sunderland College, City Campus, 5.30-7pm
- Wednesday September 16 – Washington Art Centre, Fatfield, 10am-1pm
- Saturday September 19 – The Galleries, Washington, 10.30am-1.30pm
- Tuesday September 22 – Columbia Village Community Centre, 5.30-7pm
- Wednesday September 23 – Tansy Centre, South Hylton, 10am-noon
- Friday September 25 – Pelaw Metro Station, 8.30-10.30am and 5-7pm
