STAFF at a Washington nursery are planning a fundraising day next month in honour of a former colleague – and are calling on kindhearted local businesses to lend their support.
New World Nursery at Manor Road, Concord, is planning the event for Saturday, September 30 to raise funds for the family of staff member Mary, who sadly passed away on Friday, August 18.
Mary was known for her infectious smile and was an invaluable part of the nursery and a dearly loved friend and colleague to all involved.
Nursery staff are hoping local businesses and residents may be able to help get the day up and running by offering donations.
They hope to be able to offer activities including bouncy castle, face painting, cake, stalls, tombola and a raffle and are keen for any donations possible. There will be plenty of room for stallholders, with just a raffle or tombola donation required.
