BUGS and other fascinating creatures will be setting up shop in The Galleries this weekend as Washington’s shopping centre kicks-off four weeks of Saturday summer holiday events.
From this Saturday, August 2, Wessington Square will be home to a series of free themed events each Saturday from 10am-4pm until August 23.
Shoppers young and old can take a walk on the wild side this week, with Animal Week, giving visitors the chance to get up close and hands on with real-life bugs and other creatures.
Animal Week is set to be fun and educational and aimed at both kids and brave grown-ups and anyone and everyone is free to drop by throughout the day.
This weekend’s event will be followed by Fantasy Week next Saturday, August 9 which will feature magical walkabout characters along with story time with Washington Library.
Saturday August 16 will be Puzzle Week, with giant board games and building with interactive blocks before the series closes with Dinosaur Week on August 23 when visitors will come face-to-face with giant dinosaurs walking around the centre.
