DRIVERS GET USED TO NEW OXCLOSE ENFORCEMENT ZONE

MOTORISTS are being reminded not to breach Washington’s latest camera enforcement zone or face a stiff penalty.

Last month, a new camera was installed at the former ‘bus link’ on Brancepeth Road in Oxclose with a two-week grace period where warning notices were sent to those breaching to new regulations.

As a result, 261 notices were sent out to vehicle owners caught using the road during this time.

Now, however, motorists captured breaching the rules stand to be hit with a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) of £70, which can be reduced to £35 if paid within 21 days.

Income generated by traffic enforcement PCNs from cameras will be used for further works on highways, public transport and environmental projects.
