FUN for all the family is on the cards this weekend at one of Washington’s most popular summer events. 
The annual Usworth Miners Picnic will be held from 11am-3.30pm this Sunday, August 3, at Usworth Park at Manor View, Concord, with plenty to do for visitors of all ages.
Organised by Community Opportunities and supported by The Little Onion Club, the picnic is a free event open to all.
Entertainment on the day is set to include games for children, face painting, music, stalls, history exhibitions, banner displays and more.
Visitors are encouraged to bring their own picnic but there will be food available to buy for anyone just wanting to turn up and enjoy a few hours celebrating Washington’s rich mining history.
Admission is free.
