THE annual Usworth Miners Picnic returns this Saturday – with free picnics for the first 200 visitors!
The much-loved community event will be held from 11am-3.30pm this Saturday, August 22 at Usworth Park. 
Residents are invited to bring friends and family for a day of free fun with kids games, face-painting, music, arts and crafts, local history and more.
Usworth Miners Picnic, organised by Community Opportunities and The Little Onion Club, celebrates Washington’s rich mining history and is a popular choice for families.
Visitors are always encouraged to bring along a picnic to enjoy the day and this year, the first 200 people through the gate will receive a free picnic bag.
