ORGANISERS of the now annual Washington Carnival have confirmed this year’s event will go ahead next month.
With funding from the council’s Washington Area Committee, the 2023 carnival will be held at Albany Park on Saturday, September 16 from 10am-4pm. 
The day promises plenty of family fun with fairground rides and entertainment plus stalls from various local traders and community groups.
The day will begin with a local schools and groups parade from Usworth Gardener’s Club at 9.40am, led by Washington Town Crier Jim Chambers which is expected to reach Albany Park around 10am.
There will be vintage vehicle displays, arts and crafts, a Meccano display, face painting, food and drink and more.
