THE team behind Washington’s much-loved post box toppers is inviting all budding knitters and crafters to get behind its latest project – covering Concord in poppies.
The Knitting Hinnies, Canny Crafters and Howay Crochet group is aiming to dress Concord with as many handcrafted poppies to mark Remembrance Day this November.
The group, which meets weekly on Wednesday evenings, is inviting budding knitters, crocheters and sewing fans to join them in their mission.
The group is open to anyone, regardless of ability. Wool is provided and they’ll even teach people how to crochet if needed.
Knitting Hinnies, Canny Crafters and Howay Crochet meets from 6-8pm each Wednesday at The Nook, Little Onion Club Building at Usworth Park. For more information see the group’s Facebook page.
