FAIRIES will take centre stage in Washington this weekend as the Little Onion Club hosts its next See You in the Garden event.
Usworth Park will be the venue for a Fairy Festival this Sunday, September 20, offering a fun and free afternoon for youngsters and their families.
See You in the Garden is a community gardening project funded by Sunderland City Council which works with four community gardening spaces across Wearside.
The project is designed to help build stronger and healthier communities through gardening, volunteering and creating opportunities for people to come together in welcoming outdoor spaces.
In Washington, it works with the award-winning Little Onion Club which has hosted a selection of events across the summer and this Sunday’s Fairy Festival is next.
Its next event is the Fairy Festival, which will run from noon-4pm this Sunday.
Fairy stilt walkers from Bee Enchanted CIC will be meeting and welcoming visitors, with Fantasia Face Painting on hand to create some magical designs, along with Aria Art and Movement CIC. There will also be a fairy trail, refreshments and a few stalls.
